Here you'll find some examples of my favorite pieces to play. These are taken in practice rooms, during performances, or in other, more casual settings.
SENIOR THESIS: THE UNDERGROUND RENAISSANCE
This lecture-recital cultivates all of my research and performance experience from my undergraduate career. I became incredibly interested in the stern culture of classical music and what separates it from other forms of music, in terms of education, experience, and rigor. I discuss the rebirth of casual, improvisatory music-making and black musicians' contributions to modern musical culture.
I perform works by Jimmy Dorsey, Copland, Debussy, Kapustin, and John Cage.
Sibelius Impromptu No. 5
I was asked to perform this beautiful piece to the school of music students in recognition for an impressive semester.
Saint Saens- Piano concerto No. 2
This is part of my audition for Penn State's annual concerto competition. I'm playing this stunning piece with my professor, Dr. Timothy Shafer.
